Autumn

Autumn is now upon us.............. We have had a busy Summer with Weddings and corporate events and hope you have seen some of the photos we have posted on facebook.  We are now feeling that turn in the weather and getting ready to plan our Christmas window as Christmas is fast approaching and will be here before we know it!!!

Back to Autumn, our shop now has that autumn feel about it and our window is full of those autumn colours.

New for Autumn 2015 we are now stocking stunning fragrant petals and rosebuds. Come in and have a look as they truly look and smell beautiful! We sell them by 25g and have lots of ideas of how to display them and even sell the oils to go with them.  They will make great gifts and certainly worth seeing.  The shop is full of scents and is a lovely place to be.

We also have a stunning range of St. Eval scented candles - supplied to us directly from the St. Eval candle company in Cornwall.  They only ever use the finest of ingredients and are long burning and smell absolutely amazing.

We also are still adding to our unique gift range and expanding our authentic silk flower range so you really do need to pop in and see all of our wonderful things.

Anna and John's Wedding

Well we have appeared in a blog!!! Its for a Cambridge based wedding photographer who recently took the photo's for Anna and John's wedding! We loved being involved in Anna's wedding and we created some stunningly beautiful arrangements which truely complimented Childerley Hall.  Anna and John had a lovely vintage country theme and was very fitting to the surroundings. Check out the blog at http://www.photographyatlightworks.co.uk/childerley-hall-wedding-anna-and-john/

Work Experience is here again!

I can't quite believe it has come around already but work experience is upon us again!!

I think the girls are finding out today the world of floristry is not all roses :)  Today they have the pleaseure of cleaning the buckets and there are a lot and i mean a lot of them! Will they be back tomorrow????

Thank you email!

We just wanted to share this lovely email we recieved following the wedding flowers we did for Anna & John who got married at Childerley Hall on 31st May 2013

Hi Helen & Caitlin

Just a quick note to say thank you so much for your amazing talents on Friday.

The flowers were simply stunning and I had so many wonderful comments. I absolutely loved my bouquet and didn’t want to put it down all day!! My bridesmaids also loved theirs (and my 3 yr old niece kept hold of her bouquet for the whole ceremony until we got to the reception!)

I took a few moments on my own to wander around the barn before everyone else got in there and was completely overwhelmed with how you had put everything together. The boxes on the head table were stunning and incredibly decadent – just what I was after. The cages were fabulous and many of my friends have taken them home to enjoy after the wedding. Seeing everything together and complete was simply fantastic, after all the months of compiling ideas! Guests commented how unusual and unique the buttonholes were and my husband loved his Peony Smile

Thank you again so much and I look forward to catching up with you after the honeymoon once I have the official pics (which am happy to share with you for website/publicity etc).

In the meantime have attached a few of the pics I have had from friends so far.

Thank you again so much Smile

Have a great few weeks

Anna xxx

Work experience!!

Over the last few weeks we have had work experience girls from two local schools!! It is always a pleasure to have them and to give them an insight into the world of floristy!

We had Briony from Hinchingbrooke who showed a great interest and was very keen to get stuck in! By the end of her first week she had mastered buttonholes or hair flowers as she preferred to wear them in her hair! She also created an arrangement that she took home to her mum!!  By the end of her second week she had got the hang of the dreaded spiral and managed to make a beautiful hand tied posy to give to her mum!!

At the moment we have Megan and Jodie from the Ivo who finish tomorrow! They have worked hard to learn flower name and have created some interesting tiny wired posies!!

Thanks girls for all your hard work, thanks Briony and her mum for the fab cakes and to Megan and Jodie for the coffee's

Wonder who we get next year!!

Our Favourite Peony

Flower Bar are loving the peony at the moment! Its such a short season so we would say to you buy them while you can! Our long time favourite variety is the good old Sarah Bernhardt (a beautiful pale pink double peony) it smells fantasic and looks stunning in wedding work or just simply in a jug at home. Re-cut the stems and change the water regularly and they will both look and smell amazing for 7-10 days.
